The Ubuntu sits on a thumb drives and provides a Gnome based version of the Linux Ubuntu. It sits happily beside all you window apps and if you want you can totally ignore it. Why would you want it? Well maybe you prefer Ubuntu apps to Windows apps but you don’t want to dual boot and log in and out e.t.c but now you have Ubuntu apps right there for your needs. So now your favorite Ubuntu apps instead of fully installing Ubuntu on your partition.
